Clancy Law Offices

Free Initial Consultation

Clancy Law Offices  is located one half block south of St. Charles' beautiful Main Street. The firm owns and has renovated the Idlehour Theater, a silent movie theater that opened in 1914.

Your initial visit to the firm will be free. First meetings can last from half an hour to two hours. You are welcome to bring your spouse, family members, or significant others, but there may be portions of our meeting which will be restricted to the potential clients and CLO members. Depending on your case, you may meet with one or more CLO lawyers  and a nurse who often works with us. You will likely be greeted by and introduced to Karen Kapp, Coleen Strzala, and/or Sara Harrigan, the firm's paralegals. It is not unusual for prospective clients to meet everyone associated with the firm on a first meeting - we are a small firm and we expect you will feel comfortable and welcome.

It is important that you bring to your first meeting all of the documents which relate in any way Wendellto your claims. If yours is a medical negligence claim, this might include medical records (even if you do not have all of them), medical bills, prescriptions, business cards or other identifying information from the health care providers who have treated you. If your case involves an automobile accident , we will need all of the information in your possession regarding medical care and treatment, a copy of the declaration sheet of your insurance policy (even if you were not at fault), copies of letters or forms you have received regarding the claim, any photographs taken of the scene and/or the vehicles involved and copies of any accident reports you may have. We are trying to gather as much information as we can about your potential claims in a short period of time, and so you should err on the side of bringing something if you are unsure. There is no need for you to make copies of your original documents - we would be happy to make copies of your originals for our files and return the originals to you.

LobbyIn almost every case, it is necessary for us to develop a list of all of the hospitals, doctors, therapists, and other health care providers who treated or assessed a potential client. If you can sit down before our first meeting and make a list of the names, addresses, and approximate treatment dates of each care provider, this will be of enormous help. Some people also find it useful to prepare a brief (one or two page) written summary of the relevant facts before they come. It often happens that people forget some facts when they are telling us about their case at the first meeting, and writing the facts out before you come can help make sure that you are able to share with us all of the information you want us to know.

Finally, please feel free to ask all of the questions you would like at this (and any other) meeting. It is important that you learn the things you need to know about us so that you can make an informed decision about who you would like to handle your case. It is our job to answer your questions, something we expect and enjoy. Thinking about the questions you would like to ask before you come and making notes to bring with you is a good way to make sure that you remember to ask all of the questions which concern you.
