Wendell's extensive experience as an active trial attorney for both plaintiffs and defendants has resulted in many attorneys seeking his assistance as a mediator. He has tried in excess of 100 cases to a jury verdict on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. In addition, Mr. Clancy has negotiated countless settlements and obtained numerous verdicts in excess of one million dollars on behalf of clients in
Wendell W. Clancy has been selected as a Super Lawyer every year, including 2010, as well as one of the Top Ten Civil Trial Lawyers in 2010 in Illinois. In May of 2008, he was approved by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as a Dispute Resolution Arbitrator. In addition to authoring several articles in the field of products liability and general litigation, he has provided instruction to attorneys from thirty states on Advanced Trial Techniques at the invitation of the American Bar Association. He has been chosen by the Illinois Supreme Court to be the Chair (1996 1998) of its Committee on Pattern Jury Instruction-Civil and was a committee member from 1995 to 2005. In addition to membership in numerous bar associations, he is an invited member of both the American Board of Trial Advocates (he was the President of the Illinois Chapter, 2205 2006) and Scribes, The American Society of Writers on Legal Subjects and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has been selected as a Fellow by the American Bar Association, an honor reserved for less than 1/3 of 1% of the practicing attorneys, judges and law school professors.
